Agriculture2u.com is starting a Free 6-Month Agriculture Competitive Examination Foundation Course for students preparing for ICAR-JRF/SRF, ASRB, Agriculture Officer, OPSC, OSSC, and other agriculture-related examinations.

This programme is specially designed for students who can study only 1–2 hours daily but want a clear, systematic, and achievable preparation strategy.

Month-Wise Preparation Plan

Month 1: General Agriculture and Agronomy

Students will develop a strong foundation in Indian agriculture and crop production.

Important topics include agricultural seasons, crop classification, agricultural revolutions, institutions, government schemes, tillage, sowing, seed rate, spacing, cropping systems, irrigation, fertilizers, weed management, dryland farming, and major field crops.

Month 2: Soil Science and Horticulture

Students will learn soil formation, soil properties, soil pH, salinity, nutrient deficiency symptoms, fertilizers, manures, soil conservation, problem soils, fruit crops, vegetable crops, propagation methods, nursery management, orchard management, plant growth regulators, floriculture, and post-harvest management.

Month 3: Entomology, Plant Pathology and Nematology

This month will focus on insect pests, beneficial insects, insecticides, integrated pest management, plant diseases, causal organisms, fungicides, disease management, plant-parasitic nematodes, root-knot nematodes, and nematode control methods.

Month 4: Plant Breeding, Genetics and Plant Physiology

Students will study Mendelian genetics, chromosomes, DNA, genes, mutation, selection methods, heterosis, hybrid seed production, variety release, seed certification, photosynthesis, respiration, transpiration, plant growth regulators, dormancy, germination, photoperiodism, vernalization, and stress physiology.

Month 5: Extension, Economics, Statistics, Animal Production and Agricultural Engineering

This month will cover agricultural extension methods, communication, rural development, agricultural economics, farm management, agricultural marketing, MSP, agricultural credit, crop insurance, statistics, experimental designs, livestock production, poultry, dairy, farm machinery, irrigation systems, pumps, and soil and water conservation.

Month 6: Microbiology, Biochemistry, Revision and Mock Tests

The final month will include agricultural microorganisms, biofertilizers, nitrogen fixation, enzymes, carbohydrates, proteins, lipids, metabolism, important one-liner facts, previous-year questions, full-syllabus revision, and mock tests.

Daily Study Method

Students should follow a simple daily routine:

  1. Study one topic through notes, videos, or class material.
  2. Prepare short notes in their own notebook.
  3. Solve 25–30 MCQs from the same topic.
  4. Mark incorrect answers in a separate Mistake Notebook.
  5. Revise difficult points before starting the next topic.

Even one hour of sincere daily study can produce strong results when followed consistently for six months.
